Frequently Asked Questions

Your computer's webcam and microphone can only be accessed by one program at a time. If you're video chatting on Skype or Zoom, for example, you won't be able to simultaneously use AEYONS for a live 1-to-1 session or webinar. To use your webcam and microphone with Aeyons, you first need to close the application that's currently using it. In most cases, you can complete the first step below and the interference will stop.

  1. Close all open apps

If you're experiencing a software conflict with your webcam or microphone, it's possible the device is being used by an application. Close all open applications on your computer, including those that are running in the background. Some common culprits of webcam troubles are Skype or the software that comes with the webcam – if this software is running, the webcam or microphone might not work in other apps. Once all programs are closed, try accessing your webcam or microphone via one application at a time.

  1. Restart your device

Restarting your device is one of the most basic and efficient methods for clearing conflicts and removing error causes. When your device reloads the operating system, it will only be using the core system applications and whatever you've instructed it to run on startup. If you experience the same issue after restart, it is possible the cause is an application running at startup. Check through your running applications to find anything that might be using the webcam.

  1. Disconnect the device

Sometimes there's no rhyme or reason for particular bugs or glitches on a computer. As applications open and close, pieces of functionality get suspended in memory or forget to turn themselves off. If you have an external webcam or mic, disconnecting it from your computer removes it from the system completely, forcing any programs accessing it to stop and letting you start from scratch.

Reconnect the webcam after a few seconds to see if a quick disconnect was all you needed. If you have an internal webcam, disable the device through Windows Device Manager by right-clicking it and selecting ‘Disable’, and then right-clicking again and selecting ‘Enable’. This has the same effect as disconnecting and reconnecting an external webcam.

One of the most common causes of hardware and peripheral problems is outdated drivers, so you may need to update the drivers for your webcam. Drivers are small pieces of software that tell your operating system how to interact with the various computer components. Visit the official website of your webcam or microphone's manufacturer and download the most recent drivers for your particular models. Updating drivers sometimes resolves otherwise unexplainable hardware issues. Even internal webcams require device drivers; consult your product documentation to learn the manufacturer of the webcam so that you can find its drivers.

The Aeyons system is accessible across all browsers. However, if you wish to present webinars or live 1-to-1 sessions, you will need to be using either Chrome or Firefox browsers to get those features to function correctly.

RECOMMENDED INTERNET SPEEDS FOR LIVE 1-TO-1S AND WEBINARS

We recommend a minimum dedicated 350kb/s down per downloaded stream, as well as 350kb/s up per uploaded stream to maintain a stable video connection.

Video quality dynamically adjusts based on the strength of a user's network connectivity. This is done by the user sending feedback packets to the host that say "My network quality is at 'x' level. Please adjust your published video bit-rate to accommodate my current bandwidth". The faster and more stable a user's broadband connection is, the better the video quality it will request.

This mechanism works well until a certain point. If a user's bandwidth drops below a certain threshold, or if a Host has very little bandwidth to upload video, behavior can be unpredictable. Video may be choppy, audio may have artifacts, and the connection could be dropped.

You are able to perform screen sharing in both the webinar and 1-to-1 live video sessions. AEYONS gives you the ability to show any content to your audience. You can choose whether to share your entire screen or only a single window.

You are also able to record webinars and 1-to-1 sessions and add the recordings to your video on demand library powered by AEYONS.

In a 1-to-1 session, at the bottom of your session screen, you will see a "Record" button. Simply click this to begin recording your session. You also have the ability to turn on or off the recording share functionality. This gives you the ability to instantly share the recording with your client or block the recording functionality from your client.

In a webinar, AEYONS provides a “Start Recording” button at the top of the Webinar App, that you can use to partially or fully record your webinar.

When your webinars or sessions are over, you may easily access your recordings from your AEYONS Management Page and add them to your Video on Demand library powered by AEYONS, with one single click. AEYONS lets you personalize the recording just like any other video you add to your video library. This is how you and your audience can benefit from a webinar or session, even after it took place.
